The faction of the Young Nigerian Presidential Aspirants from various political parties tonight decided to collaborate and forged a united front to win the seat in 2019.

At the 6 th  edition of the Social Media Jury Conference, Entrepreneurs from all walks of life gathered together on the 26 th  of July at the Prestigious Oriental Hotel to discuss the theme ‘’Leveraging Digital Channels for Growth’’. Welcoming guests at the event, the Convener of the SM Jury, Tonia Odili, said the goal of the Jury, ‘’is to play an instrumental role in developing entrepreneurs and businesses in Nigeria’’.

About the Book Life of a Media Girl is a new media book authored by Pat Obilor, one of Nigeria’s veteran media personalities, a University of Ibadan graduate and an alumnus of the London Media Academy. The book, Life of a Media Girl is a focus on women in the spotlight, the media industry as well as other public profession and how the society portrays these women in relation to their social, religious and cultural beliefs. While appraising the media industry, the book strives to correct certain mind-sets about women and explores the need to genuinely embrace and respect their creative professionalism in the workforce. Also, this book provides insightful nuggets and timeless hacks useful to broadcasters and individuals who wish to excel in the media space.

To enhance the capacity of journalists in this fast paced digital era, the British Council in Nigeria hosted a capacity building workshop for the media. The second in a series of capacity building initiatives for journalists was held in Abuja on 25 and 26 July 2018.  The workshop addressed key issues as it affects the media. The issues discussed include ‘Upholding journalism ethics in the age of social media- sifting facts from fake news; Conflict sensitive journalism; Equality Diversity and Inclusion in the Nigerian media; Collaborations in the media space; Storytelling in contemporary Nigeria; Child Protection and Impact of our activities on the environment. The media's role in educating, informing, entertaining and influencing public opinion in Nigeria has been more critical in recent times. This follows digital access where everyone and anyone can assume the role of a journalist. 

This message is coming close to midnight and its significance should not be lost in the noise. A time is coming, and it is even now almost upon us that if you hold dual Nationality, are an economic felon, a known separatist, stooge of any shade, or of unverifiable ancestry you will not be allowed to hold elective office in Nigeria. Non-invested people have messed up our drive to build a great nation for far too long. Only true blood, pure hearts and patriotic souls will steer this nation.

I am a born optimist; but today, let's try something else. I sense a big danger coming. I sense a mayhem, an utter disaster There's a big ruination looming in Africa's largest commercial hub - Lagos.
