200 IMO STATE TEACHERS UNDERGOING DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY TRAINING AS MINISTRY OF TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS DIGITAL BRIDGE INSTITUTE
In a bid to use digital technology to drive and improve the academic sector of our dear state, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha CON, KSC through the Honourable Commissioner for Technology Development, Nze Meekam Mgbenwelu in partnership with Nigerian Communications Commission (Digital Bridge Institute, DBI) yesterday 21/10/2019 began the training of the 1st batch of Imo State Secondary School Teachers.
This is in line with the agenda of the State Governor to reposition Imo State as the technology capital of Nigeria.
The training is being delivered at Imo State University, Computer Based Testing Centre.
A total of 110 secondary school teachers drawn from different local governments of the state were in attendance on the first day . The teachers were excited about the opportunity given to them to get ICT skills because most of them have not had the opportunity all through their teaching careers till now. The NCC facilitators from Digital Bridge Institute in their part applauded the turn of the teachers and their enthusiasm to learn.
All the attendees will receive breakfast and lunch during the course of the training. In addition to certification in Basic Computer Skills, MS Word and Internet Awareness they will also be entitled to a N5000 attendance allowance.
A total of 200 Teachers drawn all the LGAs in Imo State will benefit from the Digital Access Programme.
